As some of you already know, I’m currently working on a large series of portraits that will be published as a book of my own photography in September 2015. The concept behind this collection of photos is based on men and the relationships we have with ourselves as well as with other men, so I’m photographing upwards of sixty different guys (young, old, black, white, straight, queer, otherwise). I’ve been working on it since April and it’s been an incredible experience thus far because not only am I getting a lot of good work done, I’m also meeting some amazing people along the way. That being said, it’s been expensive what with travel and film costs, taking time away from my day job. At this point, about 4 months in, I’ve completed roughly half of my goal, having photographed 34 guys across nine cities, three states, and two countries.
That sounds like a lot, and it is! But I still have plenty of work to do, plenty of places to go, and plenty of interesting, beautiful men to photograph before my deadline of March 1 2015. This fall I plan to travel to New York City and Atlanta, GA. This is where you come in — My publishers, Sibling Rivalry Press, have set up the Sibling Rivalry Press Foundation for their authors, so that others can donate to support small press writers and artists like myself with current and future projects. This is a non-profit foundation set up in order to help those like me who have work to be done, but can’t necessarily afford to get it done.
This is a great opportunity for me to make something I think is important for my community, but I do need help. Follow this link — http://www.srpfoundation.org/product/support-a-small-press-author — and if you’d like to donate just select my name, Adam Clifton, and follow the proper instructions! If you’d like more information about SRP Foundation, or about my book, please feel free to send me a message and I’ll be happy to explain everything I can.
Thank you so much. I can’t wait to share these portraits with all of you.
